Mangrove Exploration
in Golfo Dulce
Plan Your Mangrove Tour
The Esquinas River
Mangrove System
Leave the open water behind and enter the quieter waterways of Esquinas River. This network of roots, channels, and river edges is one of the richest ecosystems in Golfo Dulce. Here, mangroves create shelter for birds, monkeys, fish, and countless smaller forms of life that depend on these calm protected waters.

The rhythm of
stillness
As you move deeper into the mangroves, the sound of open water fades. Bird calls carry through the trees, monkeys move through the canopy, and the landscape slows down. It is a quieter way of experiencing the biodiversity of the gulf — not through distance, but through attention.

Golfito Bay
mangroves
We also explore the mangroves of Golfito Bay. A different setting, but the same living edge where forest and water meet.
These sheltered channels offer another way to experience mangrove life — calm water, rich birdlife, and a close look at one of the quieter ecosystems of the bay. Depending on conditions, we choose the area that offers the best experience for the day.
Tide note
Mangrove explorations are only possible during high tide. Access to these channels depends on water levels, so timing varies with the date and hour of your visit. When planning your day, we always check the tides and shape the timing around the conditions.
A Sanctuary of
Biodiversity
Experience the vibrant life of the Rio Esquinas, where the lush rainforest canopy meets the winding river system.
